1st Week of the Legislative Session

The first week has come and gone, actually gone quicker than normal because the leadership adjourned Thursday till next week because of the weather.

The Roadbuilders was part of a small buisness roundtable meeting with the Governor. The Governor main focus was the budget and the current state of affairs in government. Job creation is his main focus and his efforts will be placed there. He made the pledge along with other Legislative leaders (both Senate and House) earlier in the day at the Mississippi Economic Council's Captiol Day of no new taxes.

The Governor did mention a plan - Misssissippi STEPS that helps pay the salaries for new employees for up to six months. Great for businesses hiring.
